The Settlement Processes and Services Guide – Western Australia has been developed through a collaborative partnership between the Settlement Leading Partners Network (SLPN), government departments, and a broad cross-section of stakeholders across eight employment regions—Broome, Esperance, Geraldton, Great Southern–Wheatbelt, Kalgoorlie, Perth North, Perth South, and South West WA. Built on the nationally recognised SLPN framework, the guide brings together shared expertise, research, and on-the-ground insights to provide a comprehensive overview of how settlement and employment systems operate across Western Australia. It reflects a coordinated, place-based approach that strengthens alignment between services and enhances the capacity of providers to support culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) communities.
What distinguishes the Western Australia guide is its scale and depth, capturing both universal settlement pathways and region-specific services unique to WA, including specialised community supports, employment initiatives, and culturally responsive programs. It provides detailed mapping of service interactions—from HSP, SETS, and Services Australia through to Workforce Australia and community-led supports—while also emphasising sector collaboration, continuous improvement, and shared accountability across regions. As a result, the guide serves not only as a practical reference for service providers but as a strategic tool to drive consistency, reduce fragmentation, and strengthen outcomes for migrants settling across the diverse and geographically dispersed communities of Western Australia.
