The Settlement Leading Partners Network

The Settlement Leading Partners Network (SLPN) was born out of a shared commitment to transform the settlement experience for migrants and new arrivals in Australia. Formed in the South Eastern Melbourne and the Peninsula region, this innovative network emerged in 2023 in response to a critical gap—despite the incredible range of services available to migrants, many organisations were working in isolation, unaware of how their efforts intersected across the migrant journey.

Recognising the power of collaboration, representatives from key agencies—South East Community Links, the Local Jobs Program (South Eastern Melbourne and Peninsula), Services Australia Multicultural Services, Chisholm AMEP, and Workforce Australia employment providers—came together with a bold vision: to create a unified, coordinated approach to settlement services that reflects the real-world complexity of the migrant experience.

Since its inception, the SLPN has worked tirelessly to foster alignment between services, map the full journey of migrant settlement, and ensure culturally responsive, person-centred pathways into education, employment, and community participation. The network has developed the Settlement Processes and Services Guide, a first-of-its-kind resource now being implemented both regionally and nationally, serving as a blueprint for service providers to understand their roles, reduce duplication, and work holistically in support of migrants.

Our ongoing work in the South Eastern Melbourne and Peninsula region is already making a measurable impact—strengthening communication between sectors, enhancing referral processes, and improving outcomes for those most in need. But we’re not stopping there.

We are now expanding nationally, collaborating with Local Jobs Programs and multicultural service providers across Australia to replicate our success, share tools and insights, and elevate the standard of service delivery for migrants nationwide.
