Frequently Asked Questions

How do I create a Settlement Processes and Services Guide for my region?

To get started, simply submit a request through our Contact Form and we will provide you with a template of the guide.

We encourage bringing together a local working group of stakeholders who regularly support migrant communities. This may include providers delivering services such as HSP, AMEP and SETS, as well as other organisations contributing to settlement and employment outcomes in your region.

Connecting with your local Local Jobs Job Coordinator is also highly recommended. They can support collaboration across services, help identify key stakeholders, and assist in facilitating ongoing engagement. You can find your local Job Coordinator via the Local Jobs website.

There isn’t a guide available for my region yet. Will one be developed?

The SLPN is actively collaborating with regions across Australia to support the development of locally tailored guides.

If you are interested in what is happening in your area, or would like to be involved, we encourage you to connect with your Local Jobs Job Coordinator or submit an enquiry through our Contact Form.

We welcome engagement from regions at all stages of development.

My service is not included in my region’s guide. How can this be updated?

Each regional guide includes a dedicated feedback process. We recommend submitting your request directly through the feedback form provided within your region’s guide, as this ensures updates are reviewed and managed locally.

The guides focus on federally contracted services supporting migrant settlement, alongside relevant complementary services within each region. Contributions that strengthen the usefulness of the guide are always valued.

You are also welcome to share information with the SLPN team via our Contact Us page for consideration in broader tools and resource development.

What other resources are available through the SLPN?

The SLPN is continuously working with partners across Australia to develop practical tools and resources that support both service providers and the communities they assist.

If there is a resource you would find valuable, or an idea you would like to explore, we encourage you to get in touch. Your feedback plays an important role in shaping future resources.

Is the guide available in different languages?

The guide is currently available in English, as it is designed primarily for service providers working within the settlement and employment service system.

The SLPN is exploring the development of additional resources specifically for migrant communities, with consideration given to accessibility and language needs where appropriate.

Is there a guide available for First Nations communities?

The current guide is designed to support services assisting people who have migrated to Australia.

We recognise the importance of culturally appropriate resources for First Nations communities and welcome opportunities to collaborate with partners interested in developing tailored guides.

If this is something you would like to explore, please reach out via our Contact Us form—we would be pleased to support you with a template and guidance.
