The Skills for Education and Employment (SEE) Program is an Australian Government program, funded by the Department of Employment and Workplace Relations, that delivers free language, literacy, numeracy and digital skills training to eligible Australians. From 1 July 2024, the SEE Program has been redesigned to expand eligibility to include all Australians aged over 15 years who have left school removing the requirement to be a registered job seeker.

The program is delivered nationally by training providers across metropolitan, regional and remote Australia.

Skills for Education and Employment (SEE)

The Australian Government's Skills for Education and Employment (SEE) Program offers free training in reading, writing, English language, maths and digital skills.

What will I learn?

• English language, literacy and numeracy with nationally recognised certificates (EAL courses)

• Digital skills

• Workplace communication and employability skills

• Preparation for study in Early Childhood Education & Care, Individual Support and Education Support courses

• Practical work experience in local business and industry

How will I learn?

The course will be offered in blended learning mode

• Classroom-based Learning, where the student attends AMES Campus’ with a Teacher/Trainer present

• Online Learning, where the student studies remotely off campus using training materials that are provided

• Classes are delivered full time and part time over a full year.

What further education can I do after completing the course?

This course can provide a pathway into a full Industry Certificate course.

The SEE program can help you to:

• Improve your reading, writing, numeracy and digital skills so you can do more study

• Improve your speaking and listening skills

• Feel more confident 

• Learn digital literacy skills to apply in the workplace

• Understand job advertisements and apply for jobs

• Gain job interview skills

The course is delivered by qualified trainers who will support you every step of the way. Learning is flexible and is designed to meet your needs.

As part of the program, you will be offered one on one support to help connect you with other services you may need, such as childcare, housing support and other community services.
